I’m a Toronto-based production designer with more than 25 years of experience in film and television. My production design work includes Finding Her Edge, Malory Towers, Plan C and The Shrine. My early work in theatre gave me a strong foundation that I built on in the set decoration department as I moved into film and television. There, I gained a deeper appreciation for how a space works in relation to the actors, camera and lighting, and how collaboration across departments brings those elements together to tell the story. That hands-on experience continues to shape my approach to creating environments that reveal character, carry a sense of history and feel believable within the world of the film. Alongside my film career, I earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental design, with distinction, and a master’s degree in design for health at OCAD University. Those studies deepened my interest in how spaces influence behaviour and emotional experience. My approach combines research, visual storytelling and hands-on knowledge of how sets are built and dressed. Working closely with directors and production teams, I carry that thinking from the first design conversations through to the finished environment.
